I haven't been here but I just wanted to make it clear that the girl Kellie Spaniol who bad mouthed this place and gave it 1 star probably doesn't like it because she gives her boyfriend, sorry, husband her Suboxone and used to give him her methadone. Not a very trustworthy person if you ask me.

I've been going their for a few months and today I got discharge without explanation. Yes I did miss a couple of appointments but it was never explain to me you can't miss more than 3 days. And the doctor wrote me extra because they said because sometimes I can't make that time they give me. But never said if you keep missing you're be discharged. I think it shouldn't be up to recovery addicts to make that decision. I would of made my best to make all appointments because I'm serious about my recovery. On top of that they knew my situation I'm in and the danger me and my family going thru. That I'm even jeopardize my life to get clean. So why would I take my recovery for an joke. Then they went over the paperwork with me until today. And still didn't just gave me the rules and regulations. And I don't know why they would still have me in the system plus send out and reminder to come. I'm devastating. It's not fair when I'm trying to stay clean and they mess up on their part not explaining the rules. I mean I go every week and poor my heart out to these people and not once nobody said You can't miss no appointments. But it's okay to use me Everytime they get new staff. And don't even train them to go over the paperwork with you. I don't know where to go from here. They didn't even detox me. On top of that they told me they mess up and had me waiting an hour acting like they were going to let me back. Told me to leave and someone going to call you so you can come back to see the doctor tommorow. But the phone call was just to say sorry we going to give you 2weeks of meds and come back in 90 days. So now I'm left without meds and mental health issues. How can you cancel my phyche appointment today when y'all knew I was having and breakthrough. That's not right at all.

I have suffered with this disease for 20 years, In that time I have attended both a 30 day In-Patient Treatment Center out of state and currently a patient at VCAM which I travel to and from multiple times weekly with over an hour commute each way. And, I am glad to return each week. It has truly given me the freedom I have longed for. I have never felt so welcomed just as I was, felt as comfortable, treated as a normal person, and truly feel each staff member at VCAM not only has held me accountable to staying clean but genuinely cares for my sobriety. From the first visit I knew I had chosen the right place for me. I received not just as much had I gone to an In-patient facility, but MUCH More. All of my needs for treatment were and are continuing to be met weekly. VCAM also personally, and most importantly, allows me to be a Mom and go home to my children daily. A sober, healthy, happy mom that they deserve. I love the relationship that I feel I have gained with each of the staff members and I would encourage anyone suffering from this disease to reach out to them. If you were at very few options left as I was to recover, and are willing to change, I believe this is an Excelling choice. Accommodating hours and scheduling, appropriate, if not any wait time upon arrival, and most of all Great Knowledgeable People that are waiting to help you. For them, I am very thankful.

Great Access and Response Time with Doctors, counselors, coaches and staff! The discomfort of early recovery was manageable thanks to the team at VCAM. Dr. Bleecher, Francis and Tara are those that have supported my recovery with great empathy, kind solutions, and good direction. Thank you for all that you do!

Absolutely the best place in Richmond or surrounding area for those struggling with substance abuse, if you don't need residential treatment. No judgement, everyone there wants the best outcome.

I found Virginia Center for Addiction Medicine by looking for a suboxone doctor but ended up with much more than that. It took work but VCAM has given me a new life. Thank you!

My experience with VCAM has been the best thing to ever happen to me. I have never gotten the concern the structure and support from any other recovery center. They really keep it 100 with you and they make it easy for you to be 100 with them. I truly feel like they are concerned about every aspect of your life. I call them my VCAM family because that's how comfortable they make me feel. Everybody is just so real and understanding that they make it so easy for you to want to participate in every way. Thank you guys for being there for me and keeping me on the right path to what's important to me. Love all you guys.
